Drivers meeting additional driving experience requirements are automatically assigned to either the Gold Star or Platinum level receiving a discount from the Standard rate level.

 

Customers currently and continuously licensed for the previous 3 years, with the most recent 18 months of licensing in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico and have NONE of the following in the past 3 years (unless otherwise stated) qualify for this discount: License suspension or revocation; Traffic school twice in the past 36 months; At-fault accident resulting in injury or death; At-fault accident with a traffic conviction; Two or more at-fault accidents; Two or more minor convictions; Any combination of at-fault accidents and minor convictions totaling two or more Department of Motor Vehicle violation points; a Two point major conviction; DUI-related convictions defined by Vehicle Code Sections 23140, 23152 or 23153 occurring before January 1, 2006 in the past 7 years or occurring on or after January 1, 2006 in the past 10 years.

 

Customers who are at least 55 years of age and who provide evidence of successful completion of a Mature Driver Improvement Course approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles within the last three years may qualify for this discount. The driver must not have had any chargeable accident or any major violation during the past three-year period, and not have been required by any court to take the approved course.
