Condo and Townhome Insurance Policies

Insurance policies for condos and townhomes cover the interior walls, fixtures, and alterations such as cabinets, countertops, and flooring. The homeowners association for your condo or townhome may have community bylaws and/or covenants that describe the insurance the association has on the unit. This master policy typically only covers the exterior of the unit and the common areas. Understanding what the master policy covers will help you determine the coverage you need for your unit. Depending on the master policy, you may need contents only coverage if the master policy covers the interior structural items.

If you are renting out your condo or townhome, you can get a policy that covers rental liability and loss of rents for dwellings with annual lease agreements or for short term vacation rentals.

Insurance for Renters

If you are renting a home in Mexico, you can get coverage that only protect your belongings. Contents only coverage is designed for those who are not financially liable for the rental unit. Mexpro has All Risk Coverage for your belongings that includes replacement cost for theft.
