California Casualty Congratulates California Gold Ribbon Schools

San Mateo, CA, June 2, 2016 … The future of education in California is very bright as evidenced by the 780 elementary schools recognized as 2016 Gold Ribbon Schools. Regional ceremonies were held in May across the Golden State. As the Presenting Sponsor, California Casualty was proud to attend and help celebrate their accomplishments.

California Casualty Assistant Vice President Lisa Almeida introduced State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson at each of the ceremonies held in Santa Clara, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Visalia and Sacramento.

Superintendent Torlakson noted the important role California Casualty has taken in supporting schools that have advanced excellence in education.

California Casualty CEO Beau Brown remarked what a privilege it was to acknowledge the achievements and successes of California educators and their schools. "As a partner with the California Teachers Association for 65 years, California Casualty understands the challenges of educating students today. We congratulate the Gold Ribbon elementary schools being honored who are not only meeting those challenges, but doing so with distinction," he said.

The Gold Ribbon Schools were chosen for embracing rigorous academic standards while providing excellence and creativity in teaching and creating a positive school environment. Superintendent Torlakson said, "They shine as bright beacons for others, putting forth an exemplary effort to ensure that every student is ready for 21st century college and careers."

As the Presenting Sponsor, California Casualty also made possible these other 2016 California School Recognition Programs:
