California Casualty Recognizes First Responders for Their Hard Work

San Mateo, CA, December 20, 2018 – Detective William W. will have the safe he has always wanted to protect his important papers, personal items and weapons. The detective is one of three winners of California Casualty’s “Better Safe Than Sorry” Work Hard/Play Hard Sweepstakes. He was surprised with his prize during a recent meeting at the Portland Police Association (PPA).

“This is pretty exciting,” he said. “I can really use a new safe for my important documents and other things around the home.”

William is an 18-year police veteran and a member of the PPA. “I am a third-generation law enforcement officer. It’s something I always wanted to do,” he said.

He added that he really appreciates the award. “It makes a huge difference when a company like California Casualty says thanks for what you do, because our jobs can be pretty thankless.”

The “Better Safe Than Sorry” Work Hard/Play Hard Sweepstakes is a thank you to first responders who work hard and often put their lives on the line for others. The prize package includes a check for $2,250 to purchase the Liberty Colonial Safe of the winner’s choice, and a collection of 5.11 tactical gear that includes a carry bag, backpack, RAID Glasses, flashlight, hats and more. The entire package has a value of $2,950.

“First responders do the hard work keeping our communities safe,” said California Casualty Sr. Vice President Mike McCormick. “This Work Hard/Play Hard giveaway allows us to say thanks and offer some extra safety for their families.”

PPA President Daryl Turner added, “We appreciate benefit partners like California Casualty. They not only provide value for our members, but they understand the dangerous work we do.”

Two other Work Hard/Play Hard safe winners will be announced soon. Learn more about the contest at www.contest4heroes.com.
