Who Will Be California Casualty’s American Hero of the Year and Win $10,000?

San Mateo, California, December 19, 2013 … California Casualty is inviting the public to vote for America’s Hero of 2013. People across the nation are invited to read the stories of eight American heroes posted at www.calcas.com/nominate-a-hero-contest and vote for their favorite. The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 grand prize.

The eight finalists were chosen from monthly nominations throughout the year via online voting. They include:

  • A Texas deputy who rescued two young drivers after their car careened into a lake
  • An Iowa volunteer firefighter/EMT who saved a patient from an out of control fire truck, but sustained serious injuries from the impact
  • A nurse who is credited with helping a young patient survive and thrive after a bone marrow transplant – and years later the two stay in touch on a personal basis

Again, one of the finalists will win a $10,000 dream vacation. Voting ends December 30, with the winner announced in early January.

California Casualty provides auto and home insurance to America’s heroes:  law enforcement officers, firefighters, educators and nurses – professionals who don’t always get the thanks they deserve for the hard work they do improving our communities.  In an era where Hollywood stars and sports icons are looked up to as heroes, California Casualty is honored to help identify and award everyday heroes who give so much, every day.

California Casualty is taking names for the “Nominate a Hero” program each month in 2014. The public is invited to show the world that “good men and women” still exist. Monthly winners receive a $250 gift card and qualify for the 2014, $10,000 grand prize. Make a nomination and get all the details at http://nominatemyhero.com.
