Utah Students Receive Winter Coats Through PFFU’s Coats for Kids Program and a $2,500 Grant From California Casualty
San Mateo, CA, January 19, 2021—Following its $2,500 contribution to the PFFU Coats for Kids program, California Casualty along with long time partners, the Professional Firefighters Association of Utah (PFFU) and the National Education Association (NEA), delivered 85 warm coats to students at Redwood Elementary School in Salt Lake Valley’s Granite School District.

California Casualty Gives $5,000 to California Teachers Association (CTA) Disaster Relief Fund
San Mateo, CA, December 29, 2020—This month, California Casualty gave $5,000 to the California Teachers Association (CTA) Disaster Relief Fund. The fund, administered by CTA Member Benefits Department, is endowed to provide financial assistance to CTA members who have experienced significant losses due to natural or other disasters in California.

Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association (OVFA) Member Wins California Casualty’s 2020 $5,000 STIHL® Tools Giveaway
San Mateo, CA, December 15, 2020 – During a surprise presentation December 11, OVFA member Destry S. learned that he was the winner of California Casualty’s 2020 Work Hard/Play Hard $5,000 STIHL® Tools Giveaway. Destry, a Firefighter at Umatilla County Fire District 1, was one of over 20,000 entries received. The national contest opened January 2020 with the winning entry randomly selected November 2nd.
NEA/PSEA Member Wins California Casualty’s $25,000 “Keep on Course” Jeep Compass Giveaway
San Mateo, CA, November 11, 2020 – During a surprise presentation on November 6, 2020, Penn Manor Education Association member and Counselor at Penn Manor High School in Millersville, PA, Marjean L., received the news that she won $25,000 through California Casualty’s “Keep on Course” (KOC) Giveaway. The national KOC contest launched January 2020 and ended early October—with Marjean randomly selected as the winner. Marjean’s entry was one of nearly 38,000 received.
California Casualty Awards Healthcare Heroes $1,000
San Mateo, CA, October 29, 2020 – One ONA-OR member and two ONA-OH members recently won $1,000 each through California Casualty’s Nurses Night Out giveaway. The program is open to all Ohio and Oregon Nurses who are members of the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA-OH) and Oregon Nurses Association (ONA-OR).
